Members of the Forest Grove Volunteer Fire Department recently had the opportunity to visit a local preschool for a morning of fire safety education and activities.
Our firefighters worked with the children on several important lessons that can help keep them safe during a fire emergency. Topics included Stop, Drop and Roll, creating and practicing a home escape plan, and learning to stay low and crawl beneath smoke when exiting a building.
Introducing these skills at a young age helps children become familiar with what to do during an emergency while giving them an opportunity to interact with firefighters in a comfortable and positive environment.
Most importantly, everyone had a great time while learning some valuable safety lessons!
