Forest Grove Volunteer Fire Department recently welcomed community members to a Stop the Bleed training class focused on teaching life-saving skills that can make a critical difference during an emergency.
Participants learned how to recognize and respond to severe bleeding incidents using proven techniques designed to help stabilize a patient until emergency responders arrive. The course covered essential bleeding control procedures and emphasized the importance of quick action during traumatic injuries.
Following the classroom portion of the program, attendees had the opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice using hands-on training props and realistic scenarios. The practical exercises allowed participants to build confidence and gain valuable experience applying the techniques they had learned.
At the conclusion of the class, each participant received a certificate of completion recognizing their commitment to emergency preparedness and community safety.
Forest Grove firefighters were encouraged by the strong participation and enthusiasm shown by those in attendance. The department extends its appreciation to everyone who took the time to learn these important skills that could one day help save a life.
Due to the success of the program, additional Stop the Bleed classes are being added to the department’s community outreach schedule. The next class is planned for June 16, and registration information will be shared soon.
Forest Grove Volunteer Fire Department remains committed to providing educational opportunities that help residents become better prepared to respond when emergencies occur.
