Forest Grove Volunteer Fire Department recently hosted an Emergency Vehicle Driver Training class, giving newer drivers and firefighters the opportunity to build the skills needed to safely operate emergency apparatus.

Members from Forest Grove and several neighboring departments participated in the training, which focused on vehicle control, safe driving practices, and the responsibilities that come with operating emergency vehicles.

We would like to thank the following departments for sending members to train with us:

  • Coraopolis VFD
  • Dormont VFD
  • Moon Run VFC
  • Moon Township VFC
  • Robinson VFC #1

Training alongside neighboring departments helps strengthen relationships, improve coordination, and ensure firefighters are better prepared to work together when emergencies occur.

A special thank you also goes to Robinson EMS for providing an ambulance for the class, allowing firefighters to complete the training needed to become certified to operate an ambulance.

Ever Wanted to Drive a Fire Truck?

You do not have to come to Forest Grove VFD already knowing how to operate a fire engine, rescue truck, or other emergency vehicle.

Members receive training and opportunities to develop new skills as they gain experience within the department. If you enjoy working with equipment, learning new skills, or have ever wondered what it takes to get behind the wheel of a fire truck, volunteering may be a great fit.

Join Forest Grove VFD and see where your training can take you.
