It is with profound sadness that the Forest Grove Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of longtime member Anthony “Tony T” Tarquinio.
Tony was an active member of Forest Grove VFD for more than 55 years, dedicating much of his life to serving others. Before becoming a volunteer firefighter, Tony served his country in the United States Army.
Although it had been some time since Tony last responded to a fire call, his service to the department never stopped. He could still be found at the station on a weekly basis working on projects, making repairs, helping wherever he could, or simply sharing his experience and advice with younger generations of firefighters.
To some, those tasks may have seemed small. To the members of Forest Grove VFD, they meant the world.
Tony’s willingness to take care of the everyday work around the station helped lighten the load for our active firefighters, giving them more time to train, prepare, and respond to emergencies. His continued presence was a reminder that service to a volunteer fire department takes many forms, and every contribution matters.
Tony’s decades of dedication, friendship, knowledge, and service will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
Tony, you will be eternally remembered and deeply missed. Rest easy, brother. We will take it from here.
